Geo Bridge

In December 2005, GGS established a joint venture with BGP to target the seismic market in the Asia Pacific region with Multi Client geophysical surveys as its priority area. The jointly owned limited company GEO BRIDGE is registered in Singapore.

GGS and BGP have had an extensive cooperation through joint investment in Multi Client surveys in East Timor, JPDA jointly administrated between East Timor and Australia as well as the Indonesian East Java Sea. The JPDA and East Java Sea surveys will be assigned to and will be carried out through GEOBRIGDE.

BGP is the world’s largest land and shallow water geophysical contractor. Liu Tielong, the Vice President of BGP International is also a Member of the Board of GGS.


BGP

BGP is one of the world's leading onshore geophysical service contractors with a registered capital of 5,100 million Yuan. In 2002, BGP became a liability-limited company after merging with six other Chinese geophysical companies. The new company is located in Zhuozhou city, Hebei province, sixty kilometers south of Beijing.

The main business of BGP includes:

• Geophysical data acquisition, processing, interpretation and reservoir studies;
• Geophysical research and software development;
• Geophysical survey planning and consultancy;
• Shallow water and transition zone seismic surveys;
• GME and geo-chemical surveys;
• Geophysical equipment manufacturing;

BGP currently fields 94 land seismic crews, 8 shallow water and transition zone crews, 7 VSP crews and 20 non-seismic crews operating on 4 continents, in 19 countries. The operations are conducted in a wide variety of terrain conditions, such as gravel plains, mountains, deserts, jungles, swamps, marshes, shallow water and transition zones.

BGP strictly follows the international guidelines for Health, Safety and Environmental Protection set forth by the International Association of Geophysical Contractors and the International Association of Oil and Gas Producers.

BGP supports its largest R&D Institute and Seismic Data Processing Center in China. Activities such as 2-D, 3-D, 3-component, 4-D seismic and 3-D VSP are commonly used to fill client requirements. Non-seismic activities include Gravity, Magnetic, Electro-magnetic and Geo-chemical surveys. Geological research services are also provided on a regular basis to the energy industry in China and in the world. One of our main efforts these days is developing tools to improve reservoir evaluation and characterization.

Rock Solid Images

Rock Solid Images is a provider of leading-edge technologies for reservoir characterization. We offer Multi-Client Regional Studies, consulting and integrated studies, research and development and commercial software products. Our technology is based on an integration of fundamental rock-physics with well data (such as wire-line logs and core reports) with surface seismic in order to interpret geophysical signatures in terms of reservoir properties, such as lithology, porosity and saturation.

Improved reservoir characterization leads to increased efficiency and lower costs for our customers due to improvements in well placement and more precise reservoir management.
Rock-physics is the key to our success. Rock-physics provides a sound scientific framework for relating rock and fluid properties, of interest to reservoir engineers, to acoustic measurements such as 3D and 4D seismic data. Without an understanding of reservoir specific rock-physics relationships, it is impossible to provide a quantitative interpretation of seismic data.

EP Tech


EP TECH was founded to bring to the Oil and Gas industry breakthrough technologies its technical staff developed over the last 10 years to model fractured reservoirs. These novel technologies focus on extracting all fracture related information from existing data such as 2D and 3D seismic, geologic, or production data and integrating them into a coherent fractured reservoir model. These new technologies have already been extensively applied to many oil and gas fields in the world, and have been tested with actual drilling.

EP TECH provides consulting services that cover the entire modeling spectrum of fractured reservoir from seismic inversion to 3D porosity and permeability models.

In addition to consulting services, EP TECH sells its flagship software, EPSTM , to allow the Oil and Gas industry the capabilities to do their own high resolution inversion and fracture modeling. EP TECH also provides training courses in high resolution seismic inversion, spectral imaging and fracture modeling.
